During the struggle against apartheid here in South Africa, what material assistance did India give to the oppressed masses? We hear that India spoke up but it was Africa, China, Cuba and the USSR who carried the burden of supplying what was needed.. India has a way of talking while doing nothing at the same time.. Modi's trip to Israel and full alignment with Israeli ambitions barely a week before the USraeli attack on Iran will go down as one of the gravest policy misjudgements by Modi and his team. Perhaps they were cajoled to do this by the US as a way of trapping India, but the result is still the same; India did not need to do this, but it chose to do so, fatally.
I think that when we explain the BRICS acronym to our children in a few years time, the "I" will be for Iran with India relegated to the very bottom of the association's list, even if presented in alphabetical order.
very true....this colossal, unforced mistake of standing with (or kneeling before??) Israel when everyone knew that a war with Iran was coming has not been widely commented upon. I guess that the bottom line is that India chose to make a huge bet against Iran when it did not need to, and the bet has blown up spectacularly. The truly sad part is that even if the agression against Iran had succeeded, India would not have really gained much.

This is quite important to understand the deep contradictions that are rife and in many ways prevent the BRICS + adoption of a more thoroughly developed answer to the many challenges developing around the world. And thus we, and by “we” I mean the Global South and mostly it’s people, must try and find a way to frame the social discussion into this context and matters, because it’s obvious that the Empire of Lies decided to stir up it’s pressure to assure the dollar as the US global currency, and it’s dominance over most countries international trade and relations. And it means the Empire will try everything, and I mean everything that is possible, even nukes, to accomplish it.
